Karl C. Kellogg
Karl C. Kellogg, 72, of Olean, formerly of Shinglehouse, died Tuesday (Aug. 9, 1988) in St. Francis Hospital, Olean, after an apparent heart attack.
He was born May 5, 1916, in Shinglehouse, the son of Bert A. and Doris A. Perry Kellogg. On May 2, 1939, in Rixford, he married the former Gladys M. Pratt, who survives.
Mr. Kellogg had been employed as an engineer by Penn Central Railroad, retiring in 1975.
He was a member of the Olean REACT CB Club and an Honorary member of Weston's Mills Fire
Department.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Linda, P. Kellogg of Olean; a son; Gary D. Kellogg of Olean; a grandson; three sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Margie D.) Dieteman and Mrs. Ilene Zapel, both of Olean and Mrs. Walter (Alice) Frost of Portville, N.Y.; two brothers, Perry D. Kellogg and John R. (Dick) Kellogg, both of Shinglehouse; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral and committal services were held Thursday in the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse. The Rev. David Wood, pastor of the Obi Community Church, officiated. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
Memorials may be made to the Weston's Mills Volunteer Ambulance Association.
