SHINGLEHOUSE -- Isabelle F. Wackwitz, 75, of West River Road, Olean, N.Y., died Saturday in the Olean General Hospital after a long illness.
She was born June 17, 1919, in Scio, N.Y., a daughter id Delbert N. and Lida Main Shelley. She married Melvin Wackwitz, who preceded her in death. She was a longtime companion of James E. Bracy, who died Jan. 14, 1995
Mrs. Wackwitz attended Oswayo Country School and worked in the central supply department of the Olean General Hospital. Later, she was employed for various homes in the Olean area as a house cleaner.
Surviving are five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Halladay of Andover, N.Y.; one brother, Ray Shelley of Shinglehouse; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded n death by three sons, Delbert Wackwitz, Bryan Wackwitz and Melvin Wackwitz, three brothers, Leon Shelley, Edward Shelley and Charles Shelley; and one sister , Ruth Clinton.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, where funeral and committal services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Christine A, Groeger, pastor of Oswayo United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Clara Cemetery.
