Mrs. Mary Walker Kemp died on Saturday afternoon, June 16, 1956, at Coudersport, following a long illness
She was born on February 15, 1880, at Myrtle, Pa., and was a resident of Eleven Mile most of her life, moving to Shinglehouse in 1949. She was married to Edwin Kemp in1895, who passed away in 1945.
Surviving are three daughters; Mrs. Charles Wixson, of Campbell, N.Y., Mrs. George Mallory , of Olean, Mrs. Gerald Fisk, of Ceres, N.Y.; five sons, Roy Kemp and Reva Kemp, Alfred Kemp and Roland Kemp, of Shinglehouse and Archie Kemp, of Eldred; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Wheeler, of Little Genesee, N.Y., and Mrs. Jennie Maxson, of Nile, N.Y.; 22 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Prayer service was held at 1:30 p.m., on Tuesday at the Howard Funeral Home in Shinglehouse and further services were conducted at 2 p.m., at the Chrystal EUB Church with Rev. Paul Whitcomb, pastor, officiating. Burial was made in the Chrystal Cemetery.
