NEWFANE -- John F. Creaton, 69, of Rounds Road, a former resident of Shinglehouse, Pa., died Saturday (March 22, 1986) in the Newfane Inter-Community Hospital.
Born in Emporium, Pa., on Jan. 26, 1917, he was the son of James and Leota Jandrew Creaton. On Oct. 7, 1950, in Genesee, Pa. he married the former Genevieve Lawton, who survives.
A veteran of World War II, Mr. Creaton served with the 64th Anti-Aircraft Artillery in the Asiatic Pacific Theater of Operations.
Mr. Creaton had been employed 21 years as a maintenance man for Sherwood Selpac Co., in Lockport, retiring in 1981.
He was a member of the Wrights Corners United Presbyterian Church, Newfane.
Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Mrs. Cory (Alice) Blouvet of Crosby, Tenn., Mrs. Betty Burdick of Lockport and Mrs. Robert (Mary) Goodell of Middleport; a son John E. Creaton of Newfane; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas Creaton of Painted Post, James Creaton of Hayword, Calif., and Robert Creaton of Newfane; a sister, Mrs. Guy (Mary Lou) Cornelius of Shinglehouse; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Kenneth H Sherrie Funeral Home, 6139 E. Ave., Newfane, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. where funeral services will be held Wednesday (March 26, 1986) at 10 a.m. The Rev. Arvid Whitmore, pastor of the Wrights Corners United Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
