Joseph Gentner Died, Sunday In Hospital
Another of our older citizens, Joseph Gentner, passed away at the Blossburg State Hospital in Blossburg, Pa., on Sunday, October 6, 1946.
He entered the hospital a month ago for a medical treatment. He had been in very good health for the past couple of years.
Mr. Gentner was born in Germany on July 27, 1867, and came to America when 12 years old. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Mary Day in 1895, and they came to Shinglehouse to reside about 40 years ago.He was employed in the window glass plant for some years, and the balance of the years he was engaged as a carpenter and painter until his health failed a few years ago.
A quiet, unassuming man he was well liked by his fellow workers. He was preceded in death by his wife about ten years. Surviving are two step-children; Ora Day of Bradford and Mrs. Fred Wilson of Horse Run.
The remains were brought to the Morton Funeral Home in Shinglehouse where the funeral services were held on Wednesday (Yesterday) afternoon at two o'clock with Rev. Don L. Moody, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. The interment was made in the family plot in Maple Grove Cemetery on Oswayo St.
