Dora Masjoshusmann


ELDRED, PA---Dora Masjoshusmann, 95, of 97 Windfall Road, Eldred, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013 in Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.

Born July 31, 1917 in Heinzenhausen, Germany, she was a daughter of Karl and Louiese Wappner Heil.

During the Holocaust, she lost a brother, threes sisters, two children and her first husband. In 1953 in Dortmundt, Germany, she married Willi Heinz Masjoshusmann, who passed away on October 8, 1989. They had a daughter, Liane, who was born in 1956. Liane, who was serving with the U.S. Army at the time, brought Dora from Germany in 1997 to live with her at Fort Riley, Kansas. In 2006 Liane married James W. Crum, Jr. and the family moved to Eldred in 2007.

In 2009 Dora became bedridden and her daughter and son-in-law cared for her in their home until earlier this year.

She loved knitting, watching Westerns, reading and taking long walks.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Liane and James Crum, Jr. of Eldred; and a brother, Herman Heil in Germany.

Mrs. Masjoshusmann was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands; two infant children; and seven siblings.

In keeping with Mrs. Masjoshusmann's wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services. Burial will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse, at the convenience of the family.
