Clare "Jane" Johnson, 74, of Coudersport, PA died Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport.
Born on January 25, 1938 in Coudersport, she was the daughter of Robert E. and Lois Sturdevant Bailey. On August 27, 1958 in Port Allegany, PA she married David H. Johnson, who died on October 28, 1989.
Mrs. Johnson was a lifetime resident of the Coudersport area and was a rural mail carrier for the U. S. Postal Service, retiring in 1998. She also drove school bus in Port Allegany and Coudersport. She was a member of the American Legion Potter Post 192 Auxiliary and the National Rifle Association.
Surviving are one daughter, Tina Daughenbaugh of Coudersport, one adopted son, Clyde Eck, Jr. of Coudersport, two granddaughters, Carly Daughenbaugh and Brooke Daughenbaugh, one brother Clyde Eck, Sr. of Genesee, PA and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Rowland T. "Murph" Johnson, who died on April 11, 1988, and three brothers, Earl Bailey, Milon Bailey and Clifton Eck.
Friends are invited to Jane's Life Celebration on Thursday, August 30, 2012 with visitation from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at the Fickinger Funeral Home of Coudersport where a memorial service will follow at 2pm with Pastor Carl Greene and Reverend Howard Burnham officiating. Burial will be in Rathbone Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
