MRS. ALBERT C. KEMP


SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. -- Mrs. Bessie M. Kemp of this community, died Monday (Dec. 31, 1973) in Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, following a long illness.
Born June 14, 1883, in Sharon Township, she was a daughter of Joseph D. and Mary Joy Elliott. In 1898, she married Albert C. Kemp, who died. in 1944.
Mrs. Kemp was a member of the Millport United Methodist Church; and a life member of the Sharon Grange 1247.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Buford (Vernetta) Whitson of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Walter (Elizabeth) Bennett of Shinglehouse; a son, Clyde A. Kemp of Mount Morris; eight grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Hugh (Ora) Jones of Alton, Ill.; two brothers, Ira Elliott of Tucson and Charles Elliott of Redlands, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral and committal services will be held there Friday (Jan. 4, 1974) at 1 p.m. with the Rev. M.H. Vincent, minister of the First Baptist Church of Ulysses, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Howard Burnham, minister of the Hebron Union Church. Burial will be in the Sharon Center Cemetery.
