Robert L. “Bob” Watterson, 73, of Fonda, NY, formerly of Millport, PA, passed away with his loving wife by his side on Thursday, May 8, 2014 in his home after a long illness. Born January 16, 1941 in Indiana, PA, he was a son of Elder L. and Della A. Fairman Watterson. On August 11, 1962 in Indiana County, he married Barbara A. Sheesely Watterson, who survives. Bob graduated from Marion Center High School in Indiana County, Class of 1958. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Education from I.U.P. and earned his Master’s degree in Education from the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. Bob was a Science teacher at Oswayo Valley High School in Shinglehouse, retiring in 1992 after 30 years of service. He was the owner and broker of the former Fairman Real Estate Agency which was located in Millport. Bob was a certified residential Real Estate appraiser. He also worked for Trail’s End Real Estate in Coudersport. Bob was a member of the Millport United Methodist Church, a member of the N.R.A., a member of the Oswayo Valley Rod and Gun Club in Millport, a member of the National Association of Realtors, and a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, traveling, and gardening. His greatest love was his family, especially his granddaughter, Taylre. Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Robin L. (Jim) Estep of Troy, PA; a son, Brent R. (Tracy) Watterson of Johnstown, NY; a granddaughter, Taylre; two step-grandchildren, Michelle and Ryan; and a step-great-granddaughter, Peyton. Friends may call on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, PA. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Becky L. Edwards, pastor of the Millport United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
