Beloved daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother'
Deloris E. Evingham, 72, of Shinglehouse, died Saturday, June 2, 2012 in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.
Born May 12, 1940 at home on Jander Run, Shinglehouse, she was a daughter of Elno C. and Marie M. Sherwood James. On April 3, 1982 in Shinglehouse, she married Douglas W. Evingham, who survives.
Mrs. Evingham was a 1958 graduate of Oswayo Valley High School in Shinglehouse. She was employed for 17 years at the former Hewitt Manor Nursing Home in Shinglehouse and later for Home Health Care of Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport where she lovingly tended to many patients.
She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church in Shinglehouse. She was an avid collector of angels. Deloris was a dedicated journal writer. She enjoyed her flower gardens and loved holidays and family gatherings.
Surviving besides her husband and her mother of Shinglehouse, are a daughter, Jane M. Perkins of Shinglehouse; a brother Ricky E. (Ginger) James of Shinglehouse; a grandson, R. Kayle (Connie) Perkins of Shinglehouse; and a nephew.
Mrs. Evingham was predeceased by her father.
Friends may call at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, PA on Monday, June 4, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Russell J. Horning, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Shinglehouse, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
