Edith B. Davis

Mrs. Edith B. Davis, 93, of Genesee died Saturday (May 19, 1990) in Charles Cole Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born May 30, 1896, in Bingham Township, the daughter of Asa and Luella Stary Quimby. On March 11, 1917 in Bolivar, N.Y. she married Cecil G. Davis, who died in 1979.

Mrs. Davis and her husband reside in Shinglehouse until 1942, moving to Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Md., and State College. She was employed as a saleswoman for various forms for 15 years before moving to Genesee in 1962.

She was a member of the Genesee United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Rebekahs for many years, serving as a noble grand and district deputy.

She is survived by a son, Darrell Davis of Genesee; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great- grandson.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Betty, in 1924.

Funeral and committal services were held yesterday in the Kear-Wetmore Funeral Home, Ulysses. The Rev. Norman Patterson, pastor of the Genesee United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
