MRS. NEWTON LAWTON - Mrs. Beessie Fitzgerald Lawton died at the Mountain Clinic in Olean on Saturday July 28, 1956 after an illness of a short duration. Born on May 10,1873, at Angelica, N.Y., she had resided in Shinglehouse and vicinity for many years. Mrs. Lawton was married to Newton Lawton in 1907, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. A.D. Furman, of Galeton, Mrs. Edward Cutler and Mrs. LaVerne Lowe, both of Shinglehouse; three sons, Donald Lawton, of Little Genesee, N.Y., Joseph Lawton of Cleveland, Ohio, and Vernon Lawton of Lockport, N.Y.;33 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A Prayer service was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday at the Howard Funeral Home with funeral services at 2:30 p.m, in the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Shinglehouse. Rev. Willia, Peoples, pastor, officiaed. Burial was made in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
