Obituary: SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Wayne R. "Skip" Crum, 62, of Shinglehouse, PA, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013 at his residence with his loving wife by his side after a long illness. Born on April 8, 1951 in Shinglehouse, he was a son of Gilbert R. and Doris M. Welch Crum. On October 6, 1979 in Great Falls, VA, he married Jane L. Hoffman, who survives. Mr. Crum was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School in Shinglehouse and a graduate of Park College and Strayer College, where he earned BA degrees. Mr. Crum served in the U.S. Army from 1974 to 1981 attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was employed as a senior software engineer for over 20 years. He was a member of the Shinglehouse Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving besides his wife, are his mother of Shinglehouse; a son, Michael A. (Laura) Crum of Genesee; a granddaughter, Emma Marie Crum; 2 sisters, Onalee R. Thurst of Cuba, NY and Rhonda K. Sheppard of Shinglehouse; three brothers, Douglas W. (Donna) Crum of Shinglehouse, Merle H. (Darlene) Crum of Port Allegany, and Thomas G. "Tom" (Carol) Crum of Shinglehouse; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Mr. Crum was predeceased by a nephew, Clinton Sheppard. At Wayne's request, there will be no public visitation. Friends are invited to attend graveside services on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Rathbone Cemetery, Coneville with the Rev. Becky L. Edwards, pastor of the Shinglehouse United Methodist Church, officiating. Members of the Potter County Honor Guard will accord military honors on Saturday.
