The Potter Headstone Project is now accepting headstone photograph submissions. You must first become a member at MEMBERSHIP.     Membership is free and subject to approval.

The Potter County Headstone project began in the spring of 2009 when a website I volunteer for had a discrepancy in its cemetery listings. They had 3 cemeteries listed that all had dfferent names in them, but, they were all located in relatively the same place. So I just had to find out what was going on. I found the cemetery which I was sure was the one in question , took a photo of every headstone there as proof of who was there so I could compare it with the listing on the other website. And lo and behold, ALL 3 cemeteries listed were of the same one. There had been 3 lists donated from different sources and all had different cemetery names and information. After I got the images sorted and placed into a webpage, it dawned on me. Why not make an entire site with images from all the Potter County Cemeteries? It would not only help serve as a cemetery record, but also help preserve headstones that are either faded or falling apart. So here we are. I hope you enjoy your stay and find whom you are searching for. Check back often, as I am sure it will take quite a bit of time to complete this project.
