Newton F. Press, Shinglehouse, Dies
SHINGLEHOUSE -- Newton F. Press died unexpectedly at his home, First Street, Sunday morning (April 20, 1947.) Mr. Press was preceded in death by his wife, who passed away April 14, 1947.
Mr. Press was born in Shinglehouse, September 12, 1865 and was a farmer in this locality until hi retirement some twenty-five years ago. He was a member of Sharon Grange and of Odd Fellows Lodge, No. 498.
Surviving are one brother, Levi Press, residing in Texas, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The body was removed to the McLaughlin Home for Funerals where funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon (April 22, 1947) at four o'clock. The Rev Don L. Moody will officiate and burial will be in the family plot in Maple Grove Cemetery.
