SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. -- Robert H. Crum, 54, of Honeoye Street died Thursday (March 5, 1998) at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, after a long illness.
Born Sept. 10, 1943, in Shinglehouse, he was a son of Howard R. and Dorothy Hedden Crum. On March 21, 1963, in Coudersport, he married the former Diane Cavanaugh, who survives.
He attended Shinglehouse schools.
Mr. Crum was employed as a construction worker and mason for Nicholas Bucci Dairies, Friendship, N.Y., before retiring due to ill health.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and helping his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Crum is survived by two sons, Robert H. Crum Jr. of Syracuse, N.Y. and Brian Crum; two daughters, Dorothy A. (Donald)Stoops of Little Genesee, N.Y. and Cheryal M. Crum of Canandaigua, N.Y.; five grandchildren; a brother, James W. (Pat) Crum of Turtlepoint; a sister, Elaine J. (Kevin) Mariner of Maryland; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Crum was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, George Smith; a stepbrother, John Smith; and a stepsister, Rebecca Anthony.
There will be no public visitation. A memorial service and burial will br held on Monday (March 9, 1998) at 11 a.m. in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Shinglehouse. The Rev. M.H. Vincent of Shinglehouse will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shinglehouse Volunteer Ambulance Association, PO Box 98, Shinglehouse, PA. 16748.
