Daniel R. Karr, Sr.
"beloved father, grandfather & great-grandfather"

SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Daniel Robert Karr, Sr., 76, of Shinglehouse, PA, died Saturday, February 6, 2010 in Charles Cole Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit, Coudersport, PA, after a long illness.

Born May 13, 1933 at the family home on Karr Hollow Road, Shinglehouse, he was a son of Harold and Clara O'Connell Karr. On February 19, 1952 in Portville, NY, he married Margaret I. Blakeslee, who died on August 12, 2006.

Mr. Karr was a self employed gunsmith. He enjoyed hunting.

Surviving are ten children: Bonnie P. (Gary) Bachand, Sue (Steve) Brabham, Cindy K. (Roger) Siebert, Daniel R. (Tina) Karr, Jr., Randy L. (Deb) Karr, Patricia A. Karr, Eric A. Karr, Tim R. (Karla) Karr, and Brian S. Karr, all of Shinglehouse, and Brad R. (Karin) Karr of Coudersport; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Fuller of Prescott, Arizona; a brother, Donnie (Jan) Karr of Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Karr was predeceased by two infant sons, Daniel Karr and Allen Karr; a brother Charlie Karr; and a sister, Patricia West.

At the family's request, there will be no public visitation. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 10 a.m. in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse. The Rev. Howard R. Burnham, pastor of Hebron Union Church, will officiate.
