William Stanley died suddenly May 7 at his home on First St. He was born July 13, 1882 at Turtle Point, Pa., the son of Harry and Patty Elliott Stanley. He was married to Grace Goodrich at Shinglehouse in 1910. Mr. Stanley has been a resident if this area most of his life and had been employed by the North Penn Gas Company for 23 years before his retirement.
Survivors in addition to his wife are five sons, Maynard and Hugh at home, William of Bradford, Charles of Shinglehouse and Harry no stationed with the United States Marine Corps. in Europe; one grandson, Donald of Shinglehouse; a sister Mrs. Mary Burdick of Bolivar and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 at the McLaughlin Funeral Home on Honeoye Street., the Rev. George Sickenberger of Kittanning a former pastor of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church officiating assisted by the Rev. Roland Gary Jr. , present pastor of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
Interment was made in the family Plot in Maple Grove Cemetery.
